New trio album coming along. released by TCB The Montreux Jazz label. Featuring Antoine Brouze on drums and Blaise Hommage on bass.

The pieces on this album are partly standards from the Broadway repertoire like

"Night & Day" or "But Beautiful". Others such as "Someday My Prince Will Come" or

"Estate" were written later and became standards. Finally, the title “En La Orilla Del

Mundo” comes from South American culture, to which I am very attached through

my Hispanic roots.

For me, these pieces have several points in common: strong and singular melodies,

as well as harmonic frameworks that are sufficiently interesting and flexible to allow

the jazzman that I am to express himself.

My manner of interpreting these works is to stay quite close to the original

composition, without artifice, while adding a personal touch.

For the recording of this album, I wanted there to be spontaneity, so I decided to

select pieces that we had never played together before.

I hope that you will enjoy our interpretations, that you will hear our voices in them,

and that these melodies will seduce you as they seduced me.

Live records of Jazz are seldom  those days. Most of the bands don't make long tours anymore, or don't last long enough, or when they do, there is no opportunity to properly capture the performance.

We have been very fortunate, and during the 2017 tour, after releasing our first studio album, we played in two places where Swiss Radio was recording. One of the concerts was in Studio 15 of RTS in Lausanne, and the other one during the Schaffauser Jazz Festival.

I believe that the material presented here,  faithfully captures the spirit of Jazz and Hard Bop, and renders with brillance the energy of the quintet.
